10 years ago, Winnow co-founders Marc Zornes and Kevin Duffy started Winnow to address the global challenge of fighting food waste. To express our gratitude and celebrate this milestone, we’ve put together a video with a reflection on the past 10 years, which you can watch above.

We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved so far this past decade, together: we have prevented $174 million worth of food and reduced carbon emissions by 217,000 tonnes, equivalent to 27,349 homes’ energy use in one year. We’ve done this in over 60 countries around the world, in over 20 languages.

And, we are just getting started. We have just raised another $10m in funding - read our press release here and some of our coverage here. This will, in part, help further develop our already industry-leading technology, advance our AI, improve insights, and develop additional tools for our clients. There’s a lot more work to be done to continue addressing the climate emergency. To start, we have an ambitious goal to reduce $1 billion in food waste by the end of the decade.

We want to thank every one of you for sharing this journey with us: to our investors, partners, clients and readers - your belief in the vision, hard work and commitment helped move the needle this far in combating the global food waste challenge. As we mark this milestone, we're excited for what's ahead and we’re confident that together, we will continue to scale our strides in combating food waste.
