We are thrilled to announce that Winnow have been awarded the Footprint Award for Waste Prevention and Management by a panel of key players from across the hospitality and sustainability sectors.
Presented at a ‘farm-themed’ ceremony at the East Wintergarden in London’s Canary Wharf, Winnow’s technology has been proven to cut food waste in half, engage staff on the issue of waste and increase gross margins by 2-6 percentage points. Judges were looking for clear and accurate processes, collaboration, demonstrable, tangible and provable difference, staff engagement and development of infrastructure.
Collecting the award, Winnow co-founder Kevin Duffy said, “Being recognised by an esteemed panel of judges from across the sector is real validation that the Winnow System works at scale. We’d like to thank our clients and partners who have collaborated with us to develop our technology which is helping professional kitchens drive down waste and dramatically improve profit.”
Winnow has now been deployed in more than 150 kitchens and have saved its customers over £1.5m in reduced annual food purchasing costs. Other winners at the event included Pret A Manger, The Spirit Pub Company and Tate & Lyle which celebrated the work that organisations in the foodservice industry are doing to in some way redress the balance for the benefit of themselves, their community and the industry at large.
